A Day on Phi Phi Island: Beaches, Snorkeling & Island Adventures
Our Phi Phi Island trip was a full day of stunning beaches, snorkeling adventures, and relaxing island vibes. From the famous Maya Bay to the peaceful Bamboo Island, every stop offered a new experience.
Booking & Getting Started
We booked our 7-island speedboat tour from a local 7-Eleven for 1,400 THB per adult. The tour included hotel pickup and drop-off, national park fees, lunch, bottled water, and all transfers. We received wristbands for identification and attended a short briefing before boarding the speedboat.
Boarding the Speedboat
Once on the boat, we put on life jackets and settled in for the 45-minute ride to Phi Phi Island. The speedboats are color-coded for groups; we were in the red team. The ride was smooth with great views of the turquoise waters along the way.
Maya Bay
Our first stop was the iconic Maya Bay, made famous by the movie "The Beach." We had about half an hour to walk along the jungle path to the beach, admire the scenery, and take pictures. Swimming is currently restricted, so we just enjoyed the view and the white sandy beach.
Pi Leh Bay
The next stop was Pi Leh Bay. Here, those confident in swimming could take a dip, but we focused on capturing photos and soaking in the amazing surroundings. The clear waters and limestone cliffs make it one of the most photogenic spots on the tour.
Monkey Beach
We visited Monkey Beach briefly, where playful monkeys roam freely. It’s a fun stop for photos, but visitors should be cautious and not feed the wildlife.
Snorkeling at Phi Phi Leh
Phi Phi Leh offered fantastic snorkeling opportunities. We saw colorful fish and enjoyed the underwater scenery, making it a highlight for adventurous travelers who love marine life.
Lunch at Phi Phi Don
Lunch was included on Phi Phi Don at a local restaurant. The buffet offered chicken curry, rice, vegetarian options like spaghetti with tomato sauce, and fresh fruit including mango sticky rice—a sweet treat to energize us for the afternoon stops.
Bamboo Island
Our final stop was Bamboo Island, a peaceful spot perfect for swimming and relaxing. We spent an hour here just enjoying the beach and the clear water, making it the perfect way to end our island-hopping adventure.
Evening & Night Market
After the tour, we returned to our hotel for a pool session and then headed to the local night market. We tried dumplings, coconut treats, and more while soaking in the lively evening atmosphere.
